Common questions
Do I need a Lichess account?
Yes. You sign in with Lichess, and your profile is built from your recent rated games there. It needs about fifty rated games from the last four months to say anything worth reading.
Does it work with Chess.com?
Not yet. Middlegame is built on Lichess, because Lichess analyzes your games on its own servers and every review here reads that analysis.
Where do the numbers come from?
Reviews and insights read Lichess’s own server analysis, the same analysis behind the eval graph on your Lichess board, so the numbers match what you see there. The 1–10 skill scores on your profile are ours: computed from your games and ranked against players in your rating band. How your games are read →
What is a season, and what does it cost?
About three months with your second in your corner: the full 40-game insights report, which you can refresh every month, the Learn page built from it, then a check-in every week written from the games you played. Seasons are free during early access and open by invite for now: email hello@middlegamechess.com for a code. Your profile is free for everyone.
What happens to my data?
We keep what it takes to build your profile and reports, and nothing is sold. The privacy policy lists exactly what is collected, who processes it, and how to delete it.
